Setting up QGroundControl (QGC) with Rev-E Drone Using the H16 Controller

This article guides you through setting up QGroundControl (QGC) on the H16 controller for the older Rev-E drone. It includes Comm Link setup, connection steps, measurement unit configuration, and customizing the QGC interface for flight readiness.


1. Setting Up the Communication Link in QGC

Step 1:

On the H16 controller, open the QGC App.

Step 2:

Tap the QGC Menu icon (top-left), then go to Application Settings > Comm Links.

Step 3:

If no connection exists, tap Add.

Step 4:

Configure the new link:

  • Name: Use the Drone Serial Number or label it UDP Link on Port 14551

  • Type: UDP

  • Listening Port: 14551

Tap OK to save.

 


2. Connecting QGC to the Rev-E Drone

Step 1:

On the H16 controller, open the QGC App.

Step 2:

Tap the QGC Menu icon (top-left), then go to Application Settings.

Step 3:

Select Comm Links, choose UDP Link on Port 14551, and tap Connect.

Step 4:

Watch for a green “Downloading Parameters” bar at the top. Once it completes, you’re successfully connected to the Rev-E drone.
